Acxiom Intern - IT Security Analyst (Forge Fellowship/Skillbridge) in Conway, Arkansas

An IT Security Analyst develops and implements security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external charges or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems. This associate researches attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and crafts countermeasures. In addition, you will maintain hardware and software used for data creation, collection and analysis. Your work may be internal or external, customer-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.

Internship details:

  • The internship will begin as defined by the terms outlined by your ACDS or SkillBridge contract.

  • This internship is crafted for The Forge Institute Forge Fellowship SkillBridge Applicants. The intern will work a 40-hour week during the period and will be allocated time to complete any required, assigned training.

  • Our intention is to have interns work on-site in Conway, Arkansas if possible. However, your internship may begin virtually and could continue virtually for its entirety. We plan to transition interns to on-site work when teams transition back into the office, but we currently do not have a timeline for this transition

  • Applicants for this internship position with Acxiom in the U.S. must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Acxiom (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (CPT/OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)

What you will do:

  • Support the monitoring of Acxiom’s cyber security tools as assigned. Refresh threat intelligence scenarios in the monitoring tools

  • Monitors and blocks for social engineering and phishing campaigns. Updated reporting looking for trends and analysis.

  • Evaluate vendors around data security risk applying industry standard risk matrix.

  • Recommends security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.

  • Integrated security access reviews as part of access privileges, control structures, and resources.

  • Own an update to vulnerability assessments based upon changes across the threat landscape. If applicable, assist in cloud vulnerability management helping to supervise defenses using cloud configuration supervising tool reporting compliance posture.

  • If prior experience, partner with internal penetration testing team.

  • Recognizes problems by identifying vulnerabilities, abnormalities, reporting violations. Update approach to reporting and analyzing thematic trends.

  • Chip in to the Acxiom’s cyber incident response practice, providing insights and process improvement.

  • Partnering with security leaders, analyze security violations and inefficiencies by conducting assessments.

What you will need:

  • Military experience that aligns with the core job requirements. Specifically threat intelligence, vulnerability management, penetration testing, code health and application security.

  • Prior education or military experience in Information Systems, Cyber Defense or Military Intelligence, Information Technology, Business Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or related field

  • Good work ethic and academic achievement

  • Proven skill with Microsoft Office applications

  • Effective communication - providing project status

  • Attention to detail, integral to supervise and audit client solution services

  • General knowledge of Information Technology practices

  • Familiar/experience with SQL, shell scripting, Linux, Python and Ruby

  • Experience with relational databases
